Dr. Ruth FitzGerald, Managing Director

Dr. Ruth FitzGerald brings extensive experience as a psychologist working in diverse, multicultural environments across the globe. Through a thoughtful integration of psychology, philosophy, and behavioural sciences, she is known for her ability to facilitate deep, meaningful, and lasting transformation within individuals, groups, and organisations. Ruth is currently Director of Counseling Services at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts. Her previous roles include Professor of Education Enhancement at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine and Director of the Coaching Psychology Division at Bahrain Polytechnic University. She has also worked as both faculty and student psychologist at Aiglon College (Switzerland), Dulwich College (Singapore), and New York University (Paris). Her approach is integrative and deeply human, drawing on humanistic, existential, transpersonal, and cross-cultural psychology. Ruth incorporates a wide range of therapeutic techniques into her work, including therapeutic writing, art therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and strengths-based approaches, allowing her to tailor each experience to the unique needs of those she works with. At the heart of her work is a commitment to helping people develop clarity, resilience, and a deeper understanding of themselves – supporting genuine growth that extends well beyond the therapeutic or workshop setting.

Christina Wilson, Programme Director

Christina brings extensive experience from the corporate sector, with a background spanning real estate and educational training program management. A determined and driven entrepreneur, she has successfully owned and led companies in both the security and property sectors, gaining deep insight into leadership, strategy, and people development. Christina thrives in complex, challenging projects and is deeply committed to helping participants reach the meaningful goals they truly aspire to achieve. She brings an innovative and thoughtful approach to program design, with a proven ability to build strong communities and foster lasting professional relationships. At the heart of her work is a genuine passion for collaboration. Christina specializes in creating environments where teamwork flourishes, participants feel supported, and connections endure beyond the program itself. She also provides ongoing follow-up, offering continued guidance, support, and practical advice to ensure that growth is sustained long after the program concludes.

Dr. Iris Saltiel, Programme Consultant

Iris brings a wealth of experience in higher education, leadership, and program development, shaped by a distinguished career spanning academia, corporate partnerships, and professional learning. She previously served as a Senior Educational Academic Adviser in the Doctor of Education (EdD) program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education. While she is now pursuing personal interests, we are truly fortunate to have her as one of our esteemed Programme Consultants. Prior to her work at Johns Hopkins University, Iris held professorial roles at Columbus State University, Troy University, the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts, and the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. Her scholarly work has focused on adult learning, collaboration, and the power of partnerships—exploring how learners, faculty, and organizations can work together more effectively across corporate, nonprofit, and higher education settings. Earlier in her career, Iris served as Director of Corporate Programs at Thomas Edison College, where she led the design and development of educational initiatives for Fortune 500 companies across the United States. Her work supported employee growth and professional development for organizations such as AT&T, Schering-Plough, Omaha Public Power District, Harrah’s Casino, Public Service Electric & Gas Nuclear Training Center, and the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists. Iris’s breadth of experience, combined with her thoughtful and collaborative approach, brings immense value to our programs – bridging academic rigor with practical, real-world impact.

Dr.Shannon Nanna, Programme Consultant

Shannon brings a depth of clinical expertise and academic leadership shaped by an international and highly respected career in psychology. She is currently Senior Clinical Psychologist at Massey University in New Zealand. Previously, she held professorial appointments at Washington University School of Medicine, the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts, the American University of the Caribbean (Netherlands Antilles), and the American University of Antigua. In addition to her academic roles, Shannon has extensive clinical experience, having worked as a Clinical and Health Psychologist at Color-Goldwater Hospital in New York and at Siteman Cancer Center, Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, where she specialized in psycho-oncology, supporting individuals and families navigating serious illness. Shannon’s clinical work is grounded in a compassionate, integrative approach. She draws on cognitive behavioral, Gestalt, person-centered, and multicultural frameworks, allowing her to meet individuals where they are and support meaningful psychological growth. Her work reflects a deep commitment to understanding the whole person and to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care.

Dr. Philip Kaplan, Programme Consultant

Philip brings over three decades of experience in clinical and forensic psychology, with a career dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and communities during times of significant challenge. He has held senior leadership and consulting roles including Chief Psychologist at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital, Director of the Middlesex County Family Crisis Intervention Unit in New Jersey, Consulting Psychologist to a program at George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC, and Consulting Psychologist for the Ministry of Social Transformation in Antigua. Throughout his career, Philip has provided comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to individuals and families, with particular expertise in child and adolescent development, families in crisis, domestic violence and abuse, and substance use issues. His work is grounded in a deep understanding of the psychological, relational, and legal complexities that often surround these challenges. In private practice, Philip has more than 35 years of experience in forensic psychology, providing expert evidence in trials and hearings, serving as a Guardian ad Litem, and conducting forensic evaluations for criminal court cases and court-mandated treatment. His work also includes court-appointed custody and visitation evaluations, as well as competency and criminal responsibility assessments. Philip’s approach is thoughtful, balanced, and deeply informed by experience, offering clarity and compassion in some of the most complex psychological and legal contexts.

Rebekah plays a vital role in ensuring that each programme runs seamlessly from start to finish. Her exceptional interpersonal skills and strong organisational abilities support the smooth flow and transition of workshop activities across all programmes, allowing participants to remain fully engaged in the experience. Known for her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for others, Rebekah creates a welcoming and supportive environment for both participants and facilitators. Her conscientious approach and meticulous attention to detail ensure that every element of the programme is thoughtfully managed, often anticipating needs before they arise. These qualities, combined with her calm and dependable presence, make Rebekah an invaluable and trusted member of the Neuroperspectives team.
