Dr. Ruth FitzGerald, Psychologist
Greetings and welcome to Neuroperspectives. I look forward to getting to know you and to working with you. I would like to share a little about myself.
My interest in psychology began in childhood and I was always fascinated by how individuals could have such different perspectives and were not necessarily tolerant of these differences.
This interest in different perspectives led me to travel, to explore the world and to learn about different cultures. I attended university in England and since then have lived and worked in many different parts of the world – the US, the Middle East, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. When my two children were born they joined me on the adventure which for them, began in Bahrain. All of these experiences have had a profound influence on who I am and how I see the world. For me, life is a great exploration and a continual opportunity for personal growth and renewal.
As a psychologist, my career has been extensive and deeply rewarding. I integrate humanistic, existential, transpersonal and cross-cultural psychology into my practice and workshop facilitation and draw upon a wide variety of techniques and approaches including therapeutic writing, art therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, nature therapy and strength-based therapy. I hold a PhD in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Marketing. I am also a qualified and experienced Mediator and Executive Coach and have been working with individuals, couples and groups for over two decades.
My experience has enabled me to fine tune my therapeutic skills to bring about transformational changes in my clients and in programme participants, quickly and effectively.
My work requires me to divide my time between St. Kitts (Caribbean) and Andalucia (Spain) and our programmes are available in both locations.
I look forward to working with you and to facilitating this very personal growth experience which will allow you to develop a healthier perspective on your own wellbeing and enable you to live your life with a greater sense of happiness, purpose and fulfillment.
